Our Recommendations

We provide accommodations, meals/snacks, towels, robes, and laundry facilities. Bring plenty of activewear, some comfort attire, and a few casual changes of clothes, along with preferred personal items and toiletries. Wearing layers will help you stay comfortable regardless of the weather. You will definitely need good quality aerobic and hiking shoes.

Forget anything? Visit our on-site gift shop with a curated selection of sundries if you need to purchase additional items while you’re here. We also make a weekly trip to Target if there’s anything else you need.

Is the Movara Program only for overweight people?

No, our health and wellness program is structured to include guests who come for a variety of reasons. The primary motivators are generally to lose substantial weight or to experience an active fitness getaway- while learning how to achieve and maintain clarity and overall wellness.

Do I have to be in shape to participate?

No, our program accommodates men and women at all fitness levels. All you need is to be willing to give your all! Many of our guests come with limitations or mobility issues and we can help work around and overcome those.

What is the age limit for guests?

We accommodate teens in our program (ages 14-17) if they are accompanied by a participating adult.

What is a typical day like?

We have a structured schedule that keeps you busy from 6:30 AM to dinner at 5:30 PM. Every day is specifically designed to provide you with the fitness activities, wellness education, and nourishment you need to get healthy and stay motivated. Our program will challenge you physically and mentally to reach and surpass your own expectations while empowering you to change your life.

What types of exercise classes are offered?

You will build confidence, strength, and endurance through a variety of fitness and boot-camp style classes that will keep you moving and never bored. Our certified professional trainers and instructors will coach and encourage you through cardio, endurance, strength and stretch classes that may include circuit training, toning, aquatics, kickboxing, dancing, and many others. Plus, as a unique featured fitness activity, our weight loss resort offers exhilarating hiking sessions as a complement to the daily workout routine.

Hiking for 2 hours is intimidating to me... will I be able to do it?

The guided hikes we offer are structured to accommodate guests at all fitness levels. These hikes play an important role in your workout regime at the resort. The diverse locations of our resorts offer a splendid array of amazing trail options for terrain, cardio intensity and experience levels. Plus they all feature breathtakingly beautiful scenery. Our guides are trained to lead, motivate, and care for all guests on these memorable, calorie burning daily hikes.

What will I learn in the educational lectures?

Our program isn’t a diet.. we promote finding clarity and creating a healthy lifestyle. Our entertaining lecture series covers the tips you need to make smart choices and achieve results through topics on balanced nutrition, emotional empowerment, motivational tools, cooking demonstrations and more. You will learn that consistency is much more important than intensity and our educators give you the tools to keep you consistent and on-track. 

How long do people stay at the resort?

The program runs in 7-day cycles with the minimum stay being one week. Check-in is always on Sunday. Guests are welcome to stay for as many weeks as they wish. The average stay is 2 to 4 weeks depending on budget and goals. Most guests who come for one week either extend a 2nd week or wish they could.

How much does it cost?

Our prices vary by accommodation choice, length of stay and the dates you stay. Our Summit Season Price includes popular dates like Spring and Fall seasons. Our Ridge Season Price is more affordable for most Winter and Summer dates. Call our friendly reservations team at 888.870.2639 to check available dates and package options.

What happens if I book a reservation but need to cancel?

If you must cancel or reschedule, we will hold your balance as a credit on file for a future stay at either of our Resort locations. If you cancel or reschedule your stay within one week of the arrival date, a $300 rescheduling fee applies, and your remaining balance is on file for future credit. If you cancel or reschedule less than one week prior to your stay, a 50% of 1-week rescheduling fee applies and the balance is on file for future credit. Any no shows forfeit one full week.

What time is Check-In on Sunday?

Check in is between 3 pm and 5 pm at both resorts. If you arrive earlier, you will have access to the resort facilities and as soon as your room is ready, we will let you know!

Can I use my Movara credit at either Resort location?

Advance Deposits, Rebooking Deposits and Future Resort Credits can be used at either Movara Resort Location.

Can I work from Movara during my weeks there?

We understand that many guests may have to connect with work during their stay. You have access to Wi-Fi with an office desk & chair in your room. There are short breaks between classes, and you can take your lunch to your room. We encourage you to participate 100% and do your work in the evenings if possible. Just let a trainer or the front desk know if you will have to miss a class.

Does my stay include daily maid service?

Yes, you have the option to have daily maid service. We also provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion for you as well.

Do the buildings have elevators?

The Lodgings have first and second floor rooms. There is not an elevator to the 2nd floor. There is an elevator in our Court Building that takes you up to the Lecture Hall and Guest Lounge.

What is required to confirm a stay at Movara?

We require a $200 booking deposit per week reserved and then your remaining balance automatically processes two weeks prior to your scheduled arrival date. You can always change or reschedule up to one week prior with no rescheduling fees. Your deposits and payments will remain on file for a future credit.

How do I reserve my Spa and Wellness treatments?

Contact the Front Desk of your confirmed resort location directly to schedule your desired treatments. The schedules are usually available to reserve up to 3 weeks in advance.
